Taxco

Die Silberstadt

Taxco de Alarcón is a city in the north of the state of Guerrero in Mexico with about 100.000 inhabitants, whose houses stretch up on the steep hills of the city. The city is famous for its centuries-long tradition of silver processing, which still plays a major economic role today. When the silversmiths sell their jewelry on market day the city is filled with onlookers, buyers and food stalls. There seem to be no limits to creativity and every craftsman stands out from the others through an individual style.
Pakilia wirkt! works with the local craftsman families with the aim of preserving their income and enriching them with the help of further training and care offers.
